Enabling LTI Integration from Brightspace

The Course Evaluations & Surveys LTI Integration allows you to quickly and easily enable an LTI link that will pass users directly from Brightspace LMS into Course Evaluations & Surveys, without requiring an additional login with username and password. This process requires that the username/login names within Brightspace are the same usernames as you upload in your User Upload file within Course Evaluations & Surveys.

Operational Steps

  1. Request LTI to be enabled for your account by contacting our Support Team using Submit A Request
  2. Once LTI has been enabled for your Course Evaluations & Surveys site, go to Account Integrations LTI.
    1. Copy the Consumer Key, Shared Secret and URL fields for configuration within Brightspace.
    2. Change the Username Parameter Name to ext_d2l_username (or other parameter if it has been customized in Brightspace).
    3. Click Save.
  3. Within Brightspace:
    1. Go to Admin Tools and select External Learning Tools.
    2. Select New Link.
    3. Enter a title for the link in Title textbox.
    4. Enter the URL provided by Course Evaluations & Surveys, copied in Step #2.
    5. Enter a Description if desired.
    6. Visibility: Select Allow users to view this link.
    7. Under Key/Secret, select Link key/secret.
    8. Enter the Consumer Key and Shared Secret provided by Course Evaluations & Surveys, copied in Step #2.
    9. Under Security Settings, select:
      1. Send system username to tool provider.
      2. Send LTI user ID and LTI role list to tool provider.
      3. Send user name to tool provider.
    10. Under Global Tool Settings, select system username, user ID, user name and role checkboxes to allow sending them to tool provider.
