Lock Surveys

CES Administrators may lock a survey to prevent others from editing it, while Instructors or Node Administrators might lock an older version of the survey to avoid accidentally selecting it after replacing it with a new one. Only the original creator of the survey can lock or unlock the survey. When locked, the survey can no longer be edited by anyone other than the creator, but it can be previewed or exported as a PDF by others.

How to Lock a Survey

To lock a survey, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Surveys & Projects from the Navigation Bar.
  2. Click on Surveys.
  3. Click the three vertical dots in the Options column.
  4. Select Lock Survey from the drop-down menu.
  5. A pop-up window will appear to confirm the changes.
  6. Once the changes are confirmed, the survey will then be locked.

How to Unlock a Survey

To unlock a survey, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Surveys & Projects from the Navigation Bar.
  2. Click on Surveys.
  3. Click the three vertical dots in the Options column.
  4. Select Unlock Survey from the drop-down menu.
  5. A pop-up window will appear to confirm the changes.
  6. Once the changes are confirmed, the survey will then be unlocked.

Note: Only the original creator of the survey can unlock it. The name of original creator will be displayed within the Author column of the Surveys page.

By following these steps, you can easily lock or unlock surveys as needed, ensuring that limited actions can be made to a locked survey or permit others to edit an unlocked survey.
